These are real hens, they are not plastic and do not come from a mold.

The decoys are domestic turkeys raised in a pen. We have chosen a breeding stock that are very similar to wild turkeys.

For vehicle transportation and storage of your decoy always use the provided stand. Never lay your decoy on its side.

To transport your decoy in the field, slip a large plastic bag over your decoy while on the stand, then slip the provided carrying case over the decoy, and then remove the turkey from its stand.

To transport your decoy from the field, leave the decoy staked in the ground, slip a large plastic bag over your decoy, then slip the provided carrying case over the decoy, and then remove the leg rods from the ground.

For hunter safety and to keep the decoy from being snagged and damaged by brush always transport your decoy by the double bag method while in the field.

You can hunt with the decoy in mist or light rain. If it is a downpour you need to cover your decoy in a plastic bag.
If your decoy gets wet you can do one of two things:

1) Leave it on the stand, take your bags off, point the decoy into the wind and leave it outside until it dries.

2) You can also blow dry your decoy with a hairdryer, but you must blow dry with the feathers. Do not blow the feathers out away from the skin.

I am sure you are very excited to set out your Hazel Creek Decoy and watch the show, just keep in mind that when the gobbler mounts the decoy he could damage it. This could shorten the life of your decoy so hold out as long as you dare and be aware of the risk you are putting your Hazel Creek Decoy in.
